New School Construction

Many schools are at capacity or over capacity in the new developments in the south part of our ward. Lillian Osborne High School has about 2000 students while Harry Ainlay High School has almost 2900 students. Esther Starkman School has more than 800 students and Nellie Carlson School has almost 900 students.

When schools are over capacity, it puts pressure on them and makes it harder for students to have important learning pieces such as access to the library, gym, computers, smart boards and playground equipment.

“My experience as a School Trustee will be vital as I know how to work cooperatively with our MLAs and City Councillors to get new schools built and reduce enrollment pressures on our schools."
